Two weeks later, the photos are finally here! As mentioned in an earlier post, I went to the CAISA Fashion show at Western on March 27th. As always it was  stellar show, the choreography was some of the best I’ve seen since dancing and seeing the shows for 6 years. So kudos to the choreographers, dancers and models! The only disappointing thing was the venue. The past few years it had been held at Centennial Hall which offered level seating and balcony views. This time the show was held at the London Convention Centre where seating was basically one behind another with no levels, this made it very difficult to see. By the intermission, it seems as though the last 10 rows had all gotten up and were standing to watch the rest of the show. Aside from the venue choice and even seating, the show was great. The lighting, stage and performances were phenomenal and I found myself wanting to be up on stage dancing with everyone most of the time!  Also, I think the program received very good responses so I’m happy with it. I’m quite happy with the way it turned out. And everything always looks better in print!  Just one minor detail that was absent, it didn’t smell like glossy magazine like I had hoped :)

Check out some images from the show! I barely shot anything because I actually wanted to just enjoy the show instead of seeing the entire thing through my camera view finder. Thanks to Devon for most of these photos. Looks like I only took a few during the lingerie scene haha!

Ok so trying to complete lessons plans for my kindergarten class, finish the massive 365 update, and complete the rest of my main website in one day was a little ambitious. So those will have to wait, sorry! However, the new site launch date will now officially be Sunday March 28th. I really hate rushing things and would rather spend the extra time to make it right so this posting will have to do! I also won’t be at my computer this weekend so Sunday it is. On to the big news about this weekend!

Back when I attend the University of Western Ontario, I was a choreographer for an annual charity fashion/dance show. In association with the Western, the Canada Asian International Students Association (CAISA) put on a colourful and high energy show every year and all proceeds went to the Children’s Health Foundation in London. It really was a great event to be a part of. As the years went on, the show got bigger and better and continued to raise more for the Children’s Health Foundation. Even with the long practices and exhaustion from dancing, it was a time of year I always looked forward to. Not only was it for a good cause but I got to do what I loved and made a lot of good friends along the way. Anyway, 4 years since graduating, I’m happy to once again be a part of the show. I could only wish I was dancing in it again but this time there was a little less dancing and a little more photographing.

This year I had the privilege of shooting the photos for the program. Now this isn’t like your regular ol’ piece of paper program you get when attending a school production. There’s some serious snazz happening here! It’s a glossy, full colour, mulit-page piece of work displaying some of Western’s finest pupils in the latest fashion pieces. It even smells like a magazine…I love that smell of new magazine! Anyway, it was a crazy two weekends in January, where I shot over 50 models and a whole lot of frames. I’ll be attending the show this Saturday and seeing the final product for the first time! The  sold out show is expecting 1200 people so I am quite excited! I’m excited to go back to Western, to see the show and to smell that program cover! :)

Check out the posters and rave cards that have posted around Western and London to promote the show. These final images are a little different from my final submitted images so I’ll post those later along with a few other images from the shoots.
