Had quite the adventurous day yesterday. I went fencing for the first time and who knew it was such a hard workout…or maybe I’m just extremely out of shape. Louise and Janice invented me along and at first I was only going to take photos but when I got there it was hard not to want to try. I had a really great time trying something totally random and new and getting to know Janice, who’s wedding I will be shooting in November. We went to Dragon Fencing Academy in Richmond Hill and had the pleasure of learning from fencing master Stanley Yee. I definitely learned a lot and had no idea how difficult it was. Louise defeated me quite easily, I didn’t even get one point :(. It probably didn’t help that I squirmed and retreated into a ball when getting attacked. I always thought the suits were more padded but they definitely were not. After a good poke from Janice, I realized these pokes were not as pleasant as a Facebook poke. All in all a great session! I might go back just so I can get at least one point.  If you’re interested in trying it out, check out the Dragon Fencing Academy website.

As if all that fencing and lunging wasn’t enough, later in the evening I went out and did some jumping and a photoshoot with my cousin who just bought a motor bike. He let me take it for a very very slow spin around the parking lot haha. More on that and photos from the bike shoot later. For now, here are some shots from fencing. My legs are still sore…
